Adagio

I will never in my life be able to listen to Barber's "Adagio for Strings" without holding back tears. It is my favorite song of all time and I imagine always will be. I've never heard anything more beautiful. I like the orchestra and choral versions pretty much equally, but find the choral version a bit more haunting. If you have never heard this song before do yourself a favor and listen to it when you get a chance. The first time I heard it I felt chills, and I did cry.

Since it's MLK day it is dead at work. I was assigned special projects (off the phone) so am able to listen to my ipod today. It really made my day wonderful!

Also, myspace is an interesting phenomenon in deed. It's crazy how people that I have been trying to get in touch with for years all of a sudden appear on there. Yesterday I got a note from a dear college friend that I lost touch with, sadly. "i go to shows and i look for you, i go to a new church, and i think you might be there. and here you are, online in myspace. i should've guessed.... " Just last week the most popular girl from high school added me. She was really nice to me, and doesn't seem very different from me these days. Yeah.

and just for fun- What played on shuffle on my ipod today: )

Hello all you wonderful friends!
Ok, now I am officially asking who wants to do a mix cd trade. There will be two options:

a)trade a mix just with me

b)send me several copies of your mix and get mixes back from several different lj users, depending on who wants to participate. we did this once before and it turned out really well! it was especially fun since people were from different countries as well.

If you would like to participate or have any questions, just leave a comment on this entry and let me know which option you are interested in. After I get a decent amount of comments I will be posting the due date, rules (pretty logical), etc. in a friends only post just for the participants. I am the only one that will see your address and full name, etc. The others will just see your lj name and city, and possibly first name.

The more the merrier, so don't be shy! Before I had mentioned doing themed mixes, but I changed my mind. You will be free to do a theme or no theme or whatever you would like. ;-)

Here are a couple entries from the last mix cd trade if you are curious:
