This is David. He lives in Southampton, Hampshire, United Kingdom. He develops web applications for a school. He is one day older than me. He’s 6’6”, a vegetarian, and he loves music and motorcycles. I met lj user jodiejo through Dave (they are real life friends and Jodie is a sweetheart), and both Jodie and Dave have participated in the mix cd trade, and that’s always fun. Dave and I don’t have all that much in common, actually. We just share the same faith and are both caring people. Oh and we also both have jobs where we work with computers and the web. He may come up with some other things.
We met through livejournal in 2003, and chatted on instant messenger every now and then and would have great conversations. In November, 2003, David came over from England and visited me for two weeks. He even went to Sheboygan with me to have Thanksgiving with my family. Neither one of us had much money, but made do. We went to the Walker Art Museum, the Mall of America, the Hollidazzle parade, Pizza Luce, Lake Michigan, saw a movie, cooked together, watched movies, and hung out with my friends lots. All my friends loved him. He is one of the nicest guys I’ll ever know! Dave, thanks for being there for me, and thanks for your friendship!

This is Sarah. She lives in St. Louis, Missouri. She works in an office somewhere, but I’m not sure what she does. What I do know, is that she loves people and has lots of friends. She is really creative and artsy and takes great photos. She is really into music and movies and loves eating out. She’s been dating her boyfriend Matt for a few years, and he’s in the band Side Walk Slam. Since he’s in the band he tours a lot and he isn’t around much.
Sarah has been one of my livejournal friends since I’ve been on here. I think I probably found her because of a common music interest or something, but I can’t remember. The interests we both list on here are: art, cat power, conan o’brien, jesus, and music. Sarah’s livejournal is fun and she keeps me up to date on some pop-culture things. She mostly tells us about what she’s been up to, commenting on new artists and movies that she likes, etc. Sarah, thanks for being a faithful old timer livejournal friend!

This is Sarah. She lives here in Minneapolis, MN (I live in North, she lives in Northeast). She works at a coffee shop in Dinkytown by the University of Minnesota, called Bordertown, where she bakes and bakes lovely things. She loves to watch The Cosby Show and Arrested Development. She loves baking, cooking, eating out, coffee. She also loves to read, laugh, and spend time with her family. She likes music a lot and her husband is in the band Fitzgerald (a band I remember from the old days of Hardcore Bible Study, as well as Cornerstone 2000). The lj interests that Sarah and I both list are: candles, conan o’brien, over the rhine, patina, singing, and the innocence mission.
Sarah and I met through
katielovesjoel and Sarah and I met for the first time in person last summer for coffee and to trade mix CDs (She was in on one of the mix CD trades). She makes really great mix CDs and has a great taste in music! I love reading Sarah’s lj because she is so honest and introspective, yet also so goofy and fun. She posts her “secret link of the day” occasionally that I always enjoy. She makes me laugh and also motivates me with her example of how much she loves life and God. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer before we hang out again! ;-)

This is Benedicte. She lives in Bergen, Norway, where she studies art, and lives in an apartment with a boy and birds. She likes Kings of Convenience, relaxing music, solo singers, houses, interior design, art, colors, books…She likes all things beautiful and inspiring. The lj interests that Benedicte and I both list are: Amelie, art, Audrey tatou, decorating, diy, dreams, magazines, making lists, rain, thrift stores, traveling.
I enjoy Benedicte’s writing because she is very introspective and honest, and I love her journal because it is so pretty and filled with beautiful pictures of homes and the scenery in Bergen, which I visited in 2002. Maybe next time I go to Norway I can meet up with her! She’s been an lj friend for over a year, and participated in the first mix cd trade. I’m not sure how I friended her, but it may have had something to do with decorating or Amelie.
I’m glad Benedicte is my lj friend because she inspires me with her depth and her perspective on art and life, and fills a bit of my ever-constant need to learn more about life in Norway.

This is Kurt. He lives in Indiana, where he works in the library at Notre Dame. He went to Taylor University and got a degree in history, and then went to Indiana University for his masters in library science. He watches a lot of movies and reads a lot of books. He’s really into music and he writes good music reviews. He still writes some a little, and used to review music for the all music guide. He also is a good writer and he puts out a lot of his own zines. He used to work at Secretly Canadian, so he got me into a Damien Jurado show for free once. He likes punk rock, his cats, his family, history, tattoos, travel. He’s really good at quoting The Simpsons as well. The lj interests Kurt and I both list and share are: cat power, damien jurado, denison witmer, elliott smith, god, indie rock, love, magazines, music, radiohead, starflyer 59, writing, and zines.
I’m not quite sure how we originally met on livejournal, but we’ve been lj friends since January of 2003. He asked if anyone wanted a mix CD and I said I did and he sent me one, as well as a zine, and then we started talking on the phone and stuff and became fast friends. At the time he was working at the local newspaper and also for his dad, in Goshen, IN, and trying to decide if he should go to grad school or not. We called each other pretty often, like if one of us was on the road or totally bored. We finally got to meet almost exactly a year ago, when he was a roadie on tour with some bands and they came through Minneapolis. Trevor and I enjoyed our time with Kurt. He’s a fun guy. Kurt is an honest, real, intelligent, talented guy. He has plans to move to Seattle soon, after living in Indiana all his life, and he’s excited about it. I’m glad that Kurt is my friend. Thanks for being my friend, Kurt!
p.s. one time when my old roomie sarah and i were driving around, kurt called. when i got off the phone she asked me who it was. i told her, "kurt." she asked "kurt morris?" she totally shocked me. she happened to know who he was because she also used to write music reviews and they knew some of the same people. small world.

This is Kells. She lives in South Carolina. She likes design, organization, adventure, trance music, vegan food, working out, and fashion. The lj interests Kells and I both list and share are: music, tea, and writing.
I found her on here because she posted some photos in the community
Hello all,
This week's Friend of the Week is....
katielovesjoel!

I've been thinking about her a lot this week! This is, obviously, Katie. She and her hubby Joel live in St. Paul in their house they have been renovating for quite some time, with their adorable poochie Owen. She loves traveling, good music, hiking and the outdoors. The lj interests Katie and I both list and share are: jesus, journaling, Over the Rhine, and Veronica Mars.
I found her on here because of her interest in Over the Rhine initially, and we've been lj friends for years. We have hung out in person as well with
iloveaslan and with all our hubbies. Katie writes mainly about her daily life and also lately about her daughter Rosemary that should be arriving any moment! I feel like I've known Katie for years and years, like we were highschool friends or something, even though that's not the case at all. She is a dear friend!
